IN STRIDE RUNNER

Picture
I'm a runner in every way, shape, and form. I started running with my Dad when I was 4 years old and have been running on/off ever since. I will run until I die or can no longer do it...I love running!!!

In High School I ran X-Country and Track.  I competed in State meets all four years in bothTrack and Cross Country and became a State Champion in the 2-mile.  I also had the opportunity to run in England with the World Sports Exchange. I competed in both Track and X-Country in college.  In outdoor track I ran either the 5,000m or steeplechase and in indoor I mostly ran the 3,000m.  I had the honor of being able to make it to a couple National races in Cross Country.

After college I continued competing in the road racing scene excelling in the 10K and Half Marathon distances. In 2015 I ran my first Ultrathon (108k). Then in 2016 I completed the Fat Dog 120 trail race in BC, Canada which was 122 miles.

One thing I have enjoyed is coaching fellow runners and helping them achieve their goals. The purpose of this website is to Inspire, Enable, and Challenge the runner in you. I have found our bodies are a lot tougher than we think. With a strong mind, you can make your body do nearly anything. I hope to be able to Inspire you to do something hard or that you've never done before. Enable you through personal coaching and informative information on training tips etc. And, Challenge you to push yourself to new heights.

I hope you will follow my blog posts and use the information provided on the Enable, Inspire, and Challenge pages. You can also follow me on YouTube and Facebook @instriderunner. If you have anything you would like me to cover, shoot me an email and I'll do my best to answer.

Testimonials

I always viewed myself as a recreational runner who could not run fast. I did not run in high school and did not even pick up the idea of running until I was in my 30s. I met Kyle when he become a trainer for my son. His enthusiasm about running peaked my interest and I decided to see if he could truly do as promised and help me run a faster marathon than I'd ever imagined. Kyle was so detail oriented! I had monthly calendar's to follow and daily texts checking on how my run went each day. He would NOT let me slack off or doubt myself! I was wondering if I could even run as fast as he believed I could. The first test came when I entered a 5K race part way through my marathon training. He told me I would run it in 22:30. ( ya right is what I thought) That was his goal for me. The race was cold and icy but I ran hard. I pushed through pain and thoughts of slowing down because I could imagine Kyle running next to me shouting out motivational things. When I crossed the finish line I was astounded to learn I was the third overall female!! Me, a 30 something year old mom had just run my first official 5K in 21:41. Kyle definitely has the knowledge and skills to get ANYONE to improve in their running. He made running challenging and fun for me. I would recommend everyone to give him a try!

As someone who has run regularly for years I knew I had what it would take to run another marathon, but I also knew I needed help in order to focus my efforts into achieving my goal race time. Kyle provided that guidance and experience I needed to make my goals an achievable reality. I started out overwhelmed and timid about approaching a big race and setting a time goal, but Kyle took all of the guesswork out of it. He met me right where I currently was in my running fitness, asked me what my goal was, and then built a customized step-by-step plan on how to get there. Because my plan started with my current fitness status, I was able to start right away with running workouts that fit right into what I was already able to do. As the workouts progressed and became more challenging, I found my confidence growing by the week, and sometimes by the day! There is nothing like regularly accomplishing training milestones to fuel your determination and motivation to continue working toward your goal. Kyle regularly checked in with my Garmin data to ensure my progress was on track. When he noticed certain trends in my running, he would tweak the training schedule he had developed for me to capitalize on my strengths and improve my weaknesses. I really appreciated how he was also concerned about whether or not I was enjoying the process. By following the personalized training plan he'd developed for me, I was able to find that "sweet spot" of being pushed beyond my limits to build speed and fitness and yet not have my life overtaken by running and feeling exhausted or miserable. One reason I believe runners are so successful when using Kyle's personalized training plans is that he tailors them to his runner's busy lives and schedules, instead of prescribing workouts that then force the runner to make lifestyle schedule changes in order to be successful with the training. I've utilized Kyle's training skills and experience to successfully reach running goals ranging from a specific time goal for a big race to a more specific goal of reaching a PR while navigating back to back races without injury. By following the training plan designed for me, I have been successful each time.
